Creigh Deeds, Democratic Primary Election Night Victory Party

In June I had the good fortune to be hired to photograph Democratic candidate for Virginia governor Creigh Deeds' primary election night "Victory Party". The 50/50 chance that the "Victory Party" will actually be a "Victory Party" adds a very interesting tension to such events. I lucked out. Creigh is a great guy and I wish him all the luck in the world in the general election.

More

Just a couple things that I should have noted on this blog thing:

1. The Virginia Quarterly Review's blog linked to a series of photographs that I had made of the poet John Casteen.

2. A couple months ago Media General used my images on their website and newspapers. I made these at a symposium that featured General David Petraeus and Congressman Tom Perriello

3. And Speaking of Tom Perriello, The American Prospect did story on Perriello that featured an image of mine. It was inside the actual dead tree publication, unfortunately the image was not featured on their website. Here it is--the one with the flash blur . . . damn awful formating . . . need to fix that.

4. The English blogger/photographer, Jon Cherry found my New Hampshire pictures and liked them.

5. And another blog, Popieces found my work

Westboro Baptist Church Counter-Protest At UVA

11.14.08. The Westboro Baptist Church threatened to protest a UVA performance of The Laramie Project, a play about the 1998 murder
of Matthew Shepard in Laramie, Wyoming. Hundreds of UVA students showed up in a counter protest and seemingly scared of the Westboro protesters.
